First off, let me just say that music is my passion. Since i was a little kid, while other kids were playing with their action figures and riding their bikes, i was in my room playing music. I was introuduced to the piano at the age of 3 and quickly showed an interest in music. At the age of 7, i started to play the drums. During this time i was singing with a childrens choir. i continued playing drums until about my 8th grade year. That is the year that changed my life changed..

That is the year that i decided that i was going to play the guitar. There was just something about the guitar that drew my attention. it was a very rhythmic but at the same time very very melodic. in my eyes it was the perfect combination. All throughout high school i played guiat in many different bands varying in styles. i also played with my schools jazz band.

Currently i am studying guitar at Vanguard University. I am majoring in Music with an emphasis in Guitar Performance. I must admit, changing my style from more of a "free" style to a more "traditional" type of play was difficult, but i feel like i made a very smooth transition. Now in my third year of playing classical guitar i am now 1st chair in out schools Guitar Ensemble. Although i am studying classical guitar, i also help with other ensembles providing them with acoustic/electric guitar such as the Vanguard Univeristy Concert Choir and Womens Chours.

Your can expect that in a short while you will begin to understand your instrument as much more that just an instrument, but rather using it as a tool to express your self. I will go over the basics that everyone SHOULD know about their instrument, also chords, scales, improv techniques, learning how to read music on the guitar, and some minimal music theory.
