My name is John, I'm a 25 y/o keyboardist located in Philadelphia, PA.  My education includes 11 years of piano lessons, 2 years at Kutztown University, and 1 year at Community College of Philadelphia where I am currently receiving my associates degree.  Currently I teach and perform in various jazz and progressive rock bands in the tri-state area. I teach a wide range of piano techniques, including sight reading, finger exercises, classical, and jazz improvisation.  I also have a solid repertoire of rhythm training, aural theory, diatonic and chromatic harmony, and music history.

My teaching style is structured and molded based on your needs as a student.  I keep things fun, yet challenging.  Conquering challenge yields progress, and therefore it must be emphasized.  However, I want to make things fun and interesting for you as well.  After all, music is supposed to be enjoyable.  I teach all age groups, from 8 to 88, and all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.  After 3 to 6 months with me as your teacher, you will notice your skills in every aspect of music increase.  Whether you're a fast or a slow learner, and no matter how much experience you have, you will gain a great deal from my system of teaching.
